Esther Nambooze Namagembe Full-time TM teacher in Uganda since 2025
My name is Esther Nambooze Namagembe. I was born on April 24, 1986, and I’m deeply passionate about sharing Transcendental Meditation (TM) with others.
For me, teaching TM is about creating a supportive and welcoming space where people can experience its transformative benefits. I guide my students, family and community through this effortless technique so they can unlock their own potential for inner peace, clarity, and overall well-being. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Ndejje University, and my journey with the Transcendental Meditation movement spans over a decade, including time spent working in the office. I’ve also worked as a caretaker for vulnerable children, which reflects my long-standing commitment to helping others.

I’ve had the privilege of introducing TM to a wide variety of groups here in Uganda, including schools and community groups, and I’m particularly dedicated to empowering women through this practice. Right now, I’m very involved in a project teaching TM at a school in the Wakiso and Kampala slums, where many of the children are especially vulnerable. Since my training in Thailand, I’ve taught TM to more than 100 students and 60 women in the community.
I’m an active and dedicated member of the Uganda TM organization. Under the leadership of our National Director, Dr. John Bukenya, our organization has over 22 TM teachers, and I’m proud to say that 30% of us are women. While all TM activities in Uganda are coordinated through our National Office, we teachers also undertake our own projects, like my work with the school and local communities.
The Uganda TM organization is a vibrant and growing community, and we’re committed to making the profound benefits of TM accessible to everyone in Uganda. We’re involved in many different initiatives, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact TM has on people’s lives. Any assistance, whether financial or in-kind, would be deeply appreciated and would make a significant difference in the lives of these young people.
